Palm WLAN USB Adapter – drivers e utility

WLAN USB

Ok, so you buy a Palm WLAN USB Adapter (Realtek RTL8187) and lost the CD drivers?

a) You can download the iso at http://eurico.net/files/driver_wlan_usb.zip ( edited from .iso to .zip . Thank you Jerry! )
b) New Mac version (Realtek_RTL8187_MacOS10.4_Driver_1309_UI1.5.1 3) at http://eurico.net/files/driver_wlan_usb_snow.zip

How to install:
0) disconnect the adapter from your USB port.
1) if you have a old/wrong driver version installed, remove it.
2) install the software version that you just download.
3) close all your applications, because you need to restart after install the driver.
4) install and reboot
5) conect the adapter on USB port
6) go to “system preferences/network” and active / setup the network
7) that all. Enjoy ;p

  3. Thanks Eurico,
I downloaded the driver and I am on the air right now.
The Palm WLAN Adapter is wonderful, even with the short antenna its signal level is about 3 time stronger than my old adapter.

Have a really marvelous day, Jerry

  4. I bought a Netgear WG111v2 USB wifi adapter for use on an Acer Aspire One D250 with OS X 10.6.1 Snow Leopard. Initially I was dismayed that Netgear’s official driver works only up to 10.5 Leopard.

Good news! Using your version this USB wifi adapter works perfectly! Thank you for me and all the other netbook hackintosh users.

  5. thanks,

works with macBook Pro 10.6.4 Snow Leopard and a GSKY branded RTL8187 based product.

    1. The links that i show here are to Macintosh computers running Leopard and Snow Leopard.

  6. Hi Eurico
Want to share my experience with you to get a solution:
    1) This driver IS NOT for Snow Leopard. It’s develop for Tiger and Leopard and is driver version 1.5.1 as you know. Realtek will not develop a driver for this chipset for Snow Leopard officially as I read in a forum.
    2) YES, it works under Mac OS X 10.6.x. That’s good news! I use it on a Mac Pro with 10.6.4 succesfully.
    3) I test a newer version 1.5.7 and got error after installing under Snow Leopard. DO NOT USE IT.
    4) This driver is EXACTLY the same that is use it on NISUTA High Power 54Mbps Wireless G USB Adapter Model N0. NS-WIU54G55 and works PERFECT!!! It have a 5 dbi antenna. The driver 1.5.1 is on the CD Installer and it have a HUGE rage of drivers for Windows and Linux. You can add a more powerful antenna if you want.
    5) Sometimes you can see all the System Preferences/Network is DIMMED… I uninstall and reinstall again until take away that issue.

  7. downloading for testing on 10.6 Portable…
bajandolo para probar en osx 10.6 portable…
